opening of pitchMonday evening saw Sutton United open their new 3G pitch with a ceremony and ribbon cutting performed by Alan Pardew from Crystal Palace after a few words and warm welcome from Sutton United Chairman Bruce Elliot accompanied by regular at Sutton United Tim Vine and professional boxer Ricky Boylan.

Despite the weather over 1,500 people turned up to the highly anticipated game, fielding a strong side it was set to be quite a match and Sutton didn’t disappoint. Despite a final score of 2-0 the fans were given a good show and the new 3G pitch seemed to fair well – it did seem strange to see clean kits coming off the pitch despite the wet conditions.
