November saw the return of the Sutton Business Club to Sutton United football club, we came together to network over a delicious lunch and listen to some member presentations.
Abbots-Group-Sutton-Business-Club-Networking_1003Guests were welcomed in and invited to network over the delicious lunch that accompanied the event. With a range of sandwiches to suit every taste and a great assortment of crudités and not 1 but 2 choices of cakes we were all spoilt for choice!
The presentations began with an introduction from Jeremy into the business club, thanks were passed on to Wendy of All Time Catering for the lunch we had all just enjoyed.

Abbots-Group-Sutton-Business-Club-Networking_1010Members were then thanked for attending by Graham Baker of Sutton United where members were given an insight into what’s going on pitch side and an understanding into the 3G pitches and the wealth of teams that can now all benefit from the facilities at Gander Green Lane.
Our first member to present was Rosemary Lillie of West Wimbledon Physiotherapy Rosemary spoke to our guests about correct seating posture, as many of us sit at a desk we are very prone to injuries in our necks and backs due to poor posture which in turn is costing businesses in sick pay. Rosemary does have a pack she is happy send out if anyone wants any further information, please contact her via the link above.

John Mill of Gowen and Stevens gave us all a glimpse into the services they provide, both on the personal side of life but also the business side, with John’s forte being commercial property.

James Robson from CNM Estates focused on local regeneration, he explained his companies ethos is to support the local community, something Sutton prides itself on and is to be reflected in their current local project – Sutton Point

The following presentation was aimed at commercial property owners and was from Paul Judd of Fire Doors Rite, he explained how they not only install the doors but also offer a maintenance package, they offer a comprehensive 34 point check on all fire doors.

We then moved over to Alan Rogers of DreamGenius who posed the following questions to our guests:
• do you get frustrated with your IT system?
• do you want technology to work for you, not against?
• is IT hindering your company’s success?
Offering a 2 hour free analysis to business club members Alan is looking to help members resolve these questions.

We concluded with Scott Sherriff of Sutton College who gave an overview of the ways the college can assist local businesses.

Particular thanks go to:
• Wendy of All Time Catering for the delicious lunch
Clownfish for all the AV equipment
Stefan Lubomirski de Vaux for the photography – an album of all the photos from the event can be found in our gallery
Thank you to all those business club members and guests who came to join us, support the business club and network, it certainly seemed to be another successful event.
