Shoreham FC was founded in 1892 and gained its first major honour in 1902, winning the Sussex Senior Cup, something that was repeated four years later. In 1920 Shoreham became founder members of the Sussex County League.
Jumping ahead a few years, the club were pleased to consolidate in 2005/06. The season saw Middle Road continue to be favoured as a neutral venue for cup ties, and the Musselmen were to collect some silverware of their own: defeating Whitehawk 2-1 in the Final of the John O’Hara League Challenge Cup.
Today, the club enjoys and benefits from a weekly footfall of between 600 and 700 visitors. The following Shoreham FC teams are now training and playing at ‘Middle Road’
“Shoreham FC would like to announce that Abbotts Group has been contracted, over the next 3 years (August 2015 to 2018), as the Club’s outsourced Commercial Department. Jeremy Ramsden of Abbotts Group has been appointed as the new Shoreham FC ‘Commercial Manager’. Abbotts Group will be solely responsible for launching and maintaining the ‘Shoreham Business Club’; details about this new business networking group, under the umbrella of Shoreham FC, will be released soon.
In the meantime, Shoreham FC would like to thank Abbotts Group for their support and services. The club look forward to a wonderful business partnership”.
Stuart Slaney – Chairman of Shoreham FC
Abbotts Group are immensely proud to have signed a new 3-year deal with Shoreham FC to become the club’s Commercial Department. In the last few years, Abbotts Group have moved away from securing conventional sports advertising and sponsorship packages on behalf of the club they represent. They now focus, instead, on sports-related business networking and community outreach projects.
“It is less about the League status and far more about community values; hence why Abbotts Group have agreed this deal with Shoreham FC”. If there was a League for community focus and outreach work, Shoreham FC would be in a League of its own. I’ve worked on several Corporate Social Responsibility, Community Outreach and Social Regeneration projects including football-based work with disability, young-offenders, vulnerable adults and children from low-income families and the work, Shoreham FC are currently involved with and their plans to develop Community Outreach projects across Shoreham, Worthing and Brighton, is exceptional”.
Jeremy Ramsden – Sales Director of Abbotts Group
Abbotts Group have a proven track record, working with non-League football clubs, to develop highly successful and sustainable business networking groups under the umbrella of the clubs they serve. These groups enable businesses to meet regularly, trade and recommend each other’s products/services in a relaxed, non-pressure selling environment, with confidence and whilst supporting local community initiatives.
